Established Machines

Building on our 15 year experience selling IT equipment at the University of Birmingham, DCS has installed machines across the UK at leading Universities. We carry out full site surveys at each location to determine where the best site for the machine is. The product ranges for the IT Consumables machines contain items we know are popular with students and sell well in a university environment. We tailor the range specifically to each sites requirement, choosing products in relation to the type of equipment and courses available.

Monitoring and Control

Our machines have advanced, realtime telemetry, feeding data into a bespoke monitoring and reporting package. Each machine is intelligently monitored and the system pro-actively alerts DCS Technicians to problems such as:

• Low stock: Warning thresholds are set for each product, meaning that a machine should not run out of stock
• Product Jams: The vending machine has advanced sensors that can detect product jams.
• Lack of sales: Alerts are triggered if, for example no cash sales occur for a period of time, indicating a possible coin-jam

Each transaction is logged, Stock levels are monitored, and the vending machine is able to be adjusted remotely, instantly. This additionally enables us to produce accurate and detailed sales reports for our Customers.

Security Features

The machine has the physical security features necessary to securely store high value goods. The outer door is fitted with a tamper resistant lock and three point locking mechanism. The door switch is linked to a remote monitoring system, which alerts us every time the door is opened.

The products are not stored behind a secure, steel inner door rather than behind glass window.

Product Dispensing Mechanism

In order to vend delicate items of various shapes and sizes, the products are stored on conveyor belts rather than in coils. A product elevator carries the products from their storage conveyors to the product collection window.
